emojability

·      People with disabilities enjoy texting as much as anybody. But other than a solitary wheelchair icon, until recently there were no emojis relevant to their unique life circumstances and journey. We changed that by creating a first-of-its kind, ability-focused emoji keyboard.

THAT’S HOW WE ROLL

Before we started creating, we interviewed patients to see what they wanted. The final keyboard included a wheelchair emoji, a gait trainer, an adaptive bike and lots of encouraging phrases.

Good Vibes Only

The app was well received by Gillette patients and their families and plans were laid for Emojability 2.0.
